Jay Wright not up for 76ers job
Villanova head coach Jay Wright has publicly stated that he is not a candidate to replace Brett Brown as the Philadelphia 76ers head coach.
There was some speculation in regards to Jay Wright and the now vacant Philadelphia 76ers head coaching position. That speculation can now be put to rest as Wright tweeted Wednesday that he is “not a candidate for the job”.
Wright also mentions Elton Brand and refers to him as a “great leader”, a description which some would contest. The 76ers will have to look elsewhere to replace Brett Brown as their next head coach.
Jay Wright has been at Villanova since 2001, compiling a 472-182 regular season record. Villanova won the NCAA Tournament in 2016 and 2018 with a third Final Four appearance in 2009.
