The Cleveland Browns second year linebackers has torn his biceps tendon is expected to miss the upcoming season.
Bad news for Cleveland Browns linebacker Jacob Phillips as he has reportedly torn his biceps tendon. This injury is expected to result in missing the entire 2021 season.
Browns’ linebacker Jacob Phillips tore his biceps tendon and is now most likely to miss the season, per source. Phillips was the Browns’ 2020 3rd-round pick and a key contributor on defense.

This is a huge loss for the Browns defense. According to Zac Jackson, Phillips was playing a prominent role in their defense in camp.
Based on camp, Phillips was the No. 2 MLB, No. 2 SLB and played in all the No. 1 nickel packages and on special teams.
Add that the Browns probably need a linebacker just to have enough to play the game Sunday, and this is a real loss in the short and long term.

While Jacob Phillips did not project to be a starter, he provided much needed depth in a group that really needs it. Based off their current depth chart, the Browns do not have a player behind Phillips listed. The team is going to have to find a replacement outside of the organization to properly fill his roster spot.
