Cleveland to face Pirates in three exhibition games

The Cleveland Basball Club will face the Pittsburgh Pirates in three exhibition games before the shortened season starts.

The Cleveland Baseball Club will participate in some much needed exhibition games against the Pittsburgh Pirates next week. There will be two games in Pittsburgh and one in Cleveland. The game at Progressive Field will be broadcast on SportsTime Ohio.

These games will be very important as it will give the team a look at batters and pitchers who are not in their own organization. Facing a different team will give Cleveland a better idea of how their opponents will approach the team during this 60-game sprint.

The team will also be able to figure out exactly what they are doing with their outfield. Outfielder Delino DeShields landed back on the injured list Sunday with an undisclosed issue. DeShields just returned to the team after testing positive for COVID-19. Seeing how the other outfielders perform against Pittsburgh may impact how the team utilizes the position group when the games start to count.
