Cleveland looks for seventh straight win

It will essentially be a rematch of Sunday’s 8-5 win in Detroit as Cleveland will start Adam Plutko to face off agaisnt Michael Fulmer.

The last time Cleveland and Detroit faced off was Sunday and the pitching matchup was exactly the same, Adam Plutko vs. Michael Fulmer. Neither pitched all that well and were relieved early in the game.

Michael Fulmer: 2.2 IP 5 H 3 ER 2 HR 2 BB 2 K
Adam Plutko: 2.2 IP 6 H 3 ER 1 K

Pretty interesting how similar the pitching lines for both Plutko and Fulmer were. Cleveland was able to tee off twice against Fulmer with home runs from Franmil Reyes and Francisco Lindor. Meanwhile, Detroit scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning thanks to Niko Goodrum and Miguel Cabrera. Cleveland was able to outscore Detroit 5-2 after the 3rd inning which led to their 20th straight win over the Tigers.

Cleveland is looking to win their seventh straight game overall Friday, their last win being a 2-0 win against the Pirates. Cleveland’s offense has warmed up over their win streak which has been a welcome sign. Cleveland is currently averaging 5.83 runs per game over their last six which is higher than their season average of 3.88. Detroit is going in the complete opposite direction as they have lost seven straight and have been struggling mightily. The Tigers have been averaging 2.85 runs per game, down from their season average of 4.43.

Friday’s game is schedule to start at 7:10 P.M.
