Cleveland looks for revenge against Tigers

The Cleveland Baseball Club will look for a better result this time out as they host the Detroit Tigers for a three game series.

It was not a good time the last time the Cleveland Baseball Club squared off with the Detroit Tigers. Cleveland dropped two of three games at Comerica Park, sending the fanbase into a bit of a tailspin. This weekend will provide the chance for revenge as the Tigers come to Progressive Field for a three game series.

The first matchup features a rematch of Game 2 of the season, a 5-2 loss in Detroit. Cleveland’s starting pitcher will be Zach Plesac while Julio Teheran takes the mound for Detroit. Plesac allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4, but unfortunately took the loss. Teheran on the other hand got the W after only 5 innings of work, only allowing 1 run and 1 hit, an Eddie Rosario home run. With Cleveland’s offense seemingly coming to life thanks to Jose Ramirez on Wednesday, a better performance at the plate could be in the cards.

This game can set the tone for the weekend, helping Cleveland on the standings front in the American League Central. At 2-3 Cleveland is currently in the bottom of the division with the Tigers squarely in the middle at 3-3.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 P.M. at Progressive Field Friday
