Cleveland blown out in Cincinnati
The Cleveland Baseball Club was on the wrong side of a lopsided score, losing by a score of 10-3 to the Cincinnati Reds on the road.
It was not a great night for the Cleveland Baseball Club at Great American Ball Park. The Cincinnati Reds had their way pummeled Cleveland’s pitching. Even though it was Cleveland who struck first, the Reds scored 10 of the next 12 runs as they ran away with an easy win.
Logan Allen was Cleveland’s starter and didn’t last long. Allen was only able to go 2 innings after allowing 4 runs (5 total) on 3 hits with 2 strikeouts. This was not the start they needed as they began a three-game series with National League rules.
Phil Maton followed Allen and was not much better. The Reds scored 2 runs on 2 hits in 1 inning against Cleveland’s first reliever of the night.
In a recurring theme it was Cal Quantrill who was the next victim for the Reds. Quantrill allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings.
Tyler Stephan would follow and allow 1 run in 2 innings on 4 hits.
