CBS mock draft has Browns making right moves

R.J. White of CBS Sports put together a three-round mock draft that has the Cleveland Browns addressing several positions of need.

Offensive line, tight end, and safety. Three areas that the Cleveland Browns need to be address this offseason. R.J. White’s mock draft would have Browns fans pretty happy with the results considering how the team currently stands.

10: Andrew Thomas OT

Some mock drafts have the Browns taking Andrew Thomas. Others have Mekhi Becton or Tristan Wirfs. The overall majority of mock drafts have Cleveland taking one of the tackle prospects available at 10th overall and that is because tackle is a clear position of need. Watching the duo of Greg Robison and Chris Hubbard combined with questionable offensive play calling led to Baker Mayfield taking many unnecessary hits. Upgrade the tackle position and keep the quarterback upright.

41: Ashtyn Davis S

Ashtyn Davis is another safety that has become popular to mock to Cleveland. Eric Edholm of Yahoo sports had Cleveland taking Antoine Winfield Jr. at this pick, but most have Davis being selected here. Winfield could be a target for their next pick if he is still available.

73: Jared Pinkney TE

This is a relatively easy selection. The future of David Njoku is murky. There have been flashes and he is still young, but the problem is does not excel when run blocking and he has issues with dropped passes. Kevin Stefanksi’s offense relies on tight ends and drafting Jared Pinkney in Round 3 could be an excellent addition to the Browns offense while making the possibility of moving on from the aforementioned Njoku just a bit easier.

90: Logan Stenberg OG

While many are content with Wyatt Teller returning as the right guard, White is of the mind that they should not be. Logan Stenberg could supplant Teller as the starter at right guard and help solidify an offensive line that was far from great in 2019.
