Cavaliers waive Alfonzo McKinnie, Tyler Cook

The Cleveland Cavaliers are shaking up the look of their roster a bit by waiving forwards Alfonzo McKinnie and Tyler Cook.

Maybe there are more moves on the horizon for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland is waiving forwards Alfonzo McKinnie and Tyler Cook per reports.

The contracts of both McKinnie and Cook would be guaranteed if they were still on the roster Tuesday.

This could be a move to get out from guaranteed contracts. It could also be a way to clear roster spots for a potential trade of Kevin Love. A scenario that seems more likely than not. Things have not been great for Love as of late and a change of scenery could benefit both parties.

Alfonzo McKinnie and Tyler Cook are not key players for the Cavaliers at this point in time. Even with the injury to Kevin Porter Jr. Cleveland is looking at other options. The Cavaliers could bring McKinnie and Cook back if they clear waivers.

Cleveland claimed Tyler Cook off waivers from the Denver Nuggets on October 19th. Cook appeared in six games, averaging two points in only 2.8 minutes per game.

The Cavaliers claimed Alfonzo McKinnie off of waivers on October 21st of last year after he was waived by Golden State. McKinnie has appeared in 23 games for the Cavs this season, averaging 2.7 points per game in 11 minutes of playing time.
