Cavaliers top Raptors 126-101 at home

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Toronto Raptors at home by a score of 126-101, led by Collin Sexton’s team-high 28 points.

The Cleveland Cavaliers came away with a surprising win Monday night, defeating the Toronto Raptors 126-101. Cleveland took down the second-place team in the Eastern Conference quite handily. The difference was effectiveness from three-point range. Cleveland made 18 of 41 attempts while Toronto only made 11 of 39. Besides the differential in three-pointers, the game was rather close in nearly every other category.

While the Cavaliers came away with the victory, the win is overshadowed by a fight between Marquese Chriss and Serge Ibaka.

Both players were ejected after a review and that did not come all that surprising. This is the type of actions that the NBA frowns upon.

Collin Sexton led the way for the Cavaliers, scoring 28 points on 10-18 shooting. This includes making four of seven shots from three-point range and four free throw attempts. Sexton rounded out his performance with five assists and four rebounds.

Cedi Osman was Cleveland’s second-highest scorer on the night, adding 19 points of his own. Osman made six shots on 16 attempts and two of six three-point attempts. Although his shooting from the field was not efficient, Osman did make all five shots from the charity stripe. Osman was also able to grab seven rounds and assist on seven shots.

Ante Zizic had quite the surprising performance, finishing with 17 points and seven rebounds on the night.

Kevin Love played 29 minutes finishing with 16 points and 18 rebounds. Love played the first game of back-to-back games but will not appear in Tuesday night’s game.

Jordan Clarkson had another double-digit scoring performance off the bench with 14 points in 31 minutes.

The Cavaliers travel to Philadelphia for their next game to take on the 76ers at 7:00 P.M Tuesday.
