Carlos Carrasco to start Friday vs. Brewers

Carlos Carrasco will start for the Cleveland Baseball Club as they begin a three game series against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Cleveland Baseball Club is beginning an important three game series at home against the Milwaukee Brewers and will have Carlos Carrasco start Game 1.

Carlos Carrasco has faced a number of Brewers batters in the past, mostly because they used to play for other teams in the Al Central. Avisail Garcia (Detroit and Chicago) is 9-39 with 1 double and 1 home run and Omar Narvaez (Chicago) is 2-11 with 1 double. Carrasco has also pitched well against Eric Sogard (1-11) and Christian Yelich (2-10, 7 strikeouts). The most surprising thing is that Ben Gamel has the best track record against Cookie going 3-5 with 2 doubles and 1 home run.

Milwaukee will be starting Corbin Burnes and he has faced three Cleveland Baseball Club batters in the past. Jordan Luplow is 0-2, Cesar Hernandez is 0-1, and Franmil Reyes is 1-1. Burnes has pitched fairly well this season with a 2.78 ERA, 1.082 WHIP, and 12.8 K/9. Burnes’ last start was his best of the season, allowing 3 hits and striking out 10 Pirates in 6 innings.

A win on Friday would run Cleveland’s win streak to three. Cleveland won their previous two games in Kansas City. Their last win was highlighted by the performances of Tyler Naquin and Triston McKenzie.
