The Browns have another kicker on the roster currently in Chase McLaughlin, who won the kicking competition by default after Cody Parkey suffered a quad injury which landed him on injured reserve. By releasing Parkey it will allow him to sign with a different team when healthy instead of sitting on IR all season.
